This connection drives our health and safety objectives and ensures the wellbeing of everyone involved is put first. Safety is integrated into each part of our operations, broken down by clear objectives and responsibilities for our employees and management.
Objectives
· Lead by Example: Our leadership sets the standard for health and safety practices.
· Effective Risk Management: We are active in identifying and managing risks to ensure a safe work environment.
· Encouragement and Participation: Our people are continuously motivated to practice in a way that prioritizes health and safety.
Height Work
In the painting industry, working at heights is a common aspect for both residential and commercial projects. We manage the high risk associated with height work by using ropes and harnesses, or elevated work platforms (EWPs). Our team is qualified for these tasks; besides the high level of experience, we have put our team through courses and have a range of certified painters on the team.
Employeeswho have completed these courses understand:
· The risk associated with height works - how to identify and mitigate it.
· The New Zealand legal requirements and industry standards for working at heights.
· The importance of appropriate PPE for height work.
· How to practice safe work methods and correct procedures.
· What to do when responding to an emergency situation.
Health and Safety Certifications
SiteWise Green Certification
Woods Painting are proud holders of the SiteWise Green Card Certification. This certificate acts as a contractor pre-qualification, an assessment to monitor our commitment to health and safety. It demonstrates our compliance to New Zealand regulatory requirements and how we as a company do all that we can to enable a safe work environment for everyone involved.
Site Safe Passports (Construction)
The purpose of these is to further our employees' knowledge in the field of health and safety, particularly in the construction industry. Workers who have completed this understand how to keep themselves and others safe onsite. This means they are able to identify hazards and act accordingly to ensure these are removed or mitigated. Additionally, they gain the confidence and skills to handle high-risk situations effectively, contributing to a safer, more productive work environment.
